Abstract

This paper discusses two different voltage representation models (polar and rectangular coordinates) of power flow analysis based on current injection method in vector form. This thesis conducted to obtained power flow analysis method with a faster and more accurate computation, and less iteration number. Newton-Raphson iteration method was adopted in this work and an in-house software was developed using python programming language and its vector operation-supported libraries. Analysis on convergence characteristics of the two voltage representations was carried out to the IEEE 14-bus test system. Result in this paper reveals that the full rectangular representation is more superior than the polar form for current injection method power flow in this particular case.
